We are very proud to have just completed our first Charity event in Sussex. After many successful charity ride outs in Nottinghamshire in the past 6 years we felt it only right and just to put to good use our passion for biking here in Sussex. Around 200 bikes of all makes and sizes took part and enjoyed the fantastic views around sussex and down the coast.
We raised almost £1000 for Cancervive, a fantastic charity who organise support for the family, friends and colleagues of cancer patients. Paul and Rebecca at Cancervive worked long and hard with us to organise the Ride Out which took place on Sunday the 28th June 2009.
The day started at 11am at the Roebuck Inn in Laughton. Tea, coffee and bacon butties were supplied in abundance by the Roebuck before the ride off at 12noon. All riders were asked for a donation of £5 per person - 100% of which went to Cancervive.
The route took bikers through Lewes, Haywards heath, Burgess Hill, Brighton, Newhaven, Eastbourne and Back to Laughton, the ride was roughly 70 miles long and took from around 2 hours 15 mins. Most had to endure the heavy traffic in Brighton but some wisely took the short cut to avoid it.... understandably so!
The ride out culminated in a Hog Roast, Band and charity Raffle.
The folks at Cancervive along with us at TT Motorcycle School send a heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to a fantastic day...
