Alan at TT Motorcycle school is brilliant and I have no hesitation to recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to drive a motorcycle. I learned to drive on a brand new Yamaha. Alan is teaching in smaller groups than other motorcycle schools so the tuition was always very personal. You will get lots of tips on how to improve your driving and you will learn very quickly. The instruction is always spot on and very professional. Alan’s standards are very high. He will be pointing out every little mistake you make. However, at the same time, your are encouraged to improve. His manner of teaching will give you confidence in your abilities driving the bike. Alan will also asses your progress and tell you when you are ready to pass the test. For me it worked out better, I passed for both mod 1 and mod 2 first time! It saved me probably a lot of time and money compared to the ‘all in one week’ intensive courses. Spring is coming and I am looking forward to driving my new bike!

After not riding a bike for 27 years - and even then only a Honda c90 - I was quite nervous about doing my CBT last Saturday. Having ran over a cone on 4 wheels as I entered the site I was relieved to see Allan didn't run screaming at the thought of getting me up to scratch on 2. Everything I learnt was delivered in a friendly relaxed way but without undermining the risks and always being conscious of safety. There is so much to remember for the manoeuvres, I got really frustrated with clutch control but the guys were so patient with me. In the afternoon we went on the road ... I was trying to be really cool about it though I felt quite stressed inside - but they believed in my ability or they wouldn't have taken me out ... I just needed to believe in myself. Ed followed me and constantly reassured and directed me and soon I relaxed. It felt great. I'm glad to say I passed and will definitely be having further lessons to get my full licence asap. Oh and Ed I promise I will 'remember remember' to cancel that bloody indicator. Thanks guys Fran Felton

I got back into biking after a very long break and wanted to do the full license through the direct acces route. I did my CBT with "TT" and I have to say the instruction was great the thing I really noticed that there was never a high number of students to instructor ratio. It really helped my confidence and my Skills. After the CBT and some more experience I went back to Allan for more instruction to get me through the "big bike" test. Again I was pleased that this became one on one instruction and made the whole thing more enjoyable. I got through Module 1 & 2 and was over the moon. Allan takes the time to study your strengths and weaknesses and tailor makes your training and development to bring you up to speed. I felt ready for my Module 2 test and passed with the examiner saying it looked like I enjoyed the ride! Testiment to the skills Allan passed onto me. If you want good quality bike training and first class results TT is the place to go. I intend to go to Allan for advanced rider training for the future as well. Thanks Allan!

After taking my CBT with Allan I was loving riding around on my own, but I wanted rid of those learner plates! I rang Allan and sorted my full test training, and passed my Module 1 with no minors first time, on a cruiser 125! Allans relaxed and easy teaching style made it easy to feel comfortable knowing how to ride properly, and learn what was needed to pass my test. When the day came for my Module 2 Allan simply said to me 'no worries, you'll pass with 3 or 4 minors, piece of cake'. I was a little unsure about this prediction! But with Allans training and guidance I passed with only 2 minors!! I would definately recommend Allan and Nikki at TT to anyone who wanted training, both beginner and experienced.

I was bitten by the sports bike bug and looking to fast track my full licence contacted TT Motorcycles in October 2010. In a matter of 8 weeks, given bad weather, DSA test cancellations, holidays, etc,... I passed my Mod 2 on the last day of the year and making me a very happy man. All credit goes to Alan and without his commitment, professionalism and friendly demeanour it would not have been possible in such a short time. I enjoyed every session with Alan and appreciate the quality of his training and kit (59 plate Yamaha XJ6)!! For all those who are considering motorbike lessons, CBT, full licence, etc,..all I can say is Alan is more interested in your riding skill and safety than your money. He comes highly recommended by me. PJ 6/1/10

Having only been on the back of a bike once or twice before i was very nervous. When i arrived unfortunatly the weather was too windy to go ahead with the day but graciously Alan offered to give up his free time and do the course the following day. The next day was much better and as soon as we got talking the nerves calmed. The Briefing explained every thing from scrath giving a great start to the day. Getting on the bikes started poor as can only be expected from a first timer, but with direction and encouragment got better though the day. The training is very comprehensive, for Anyone taking this course my best advise is listen, and enjoy. I couldn't fault the day, Many thanks I'll be back for my full licence later.

i went to tt motorcycles after doing a DAS course with a company in W******* . i did the old test with them and failed on my u turn only ever managing to do 1 successful turn in my whole course. I had also been told that i would never be able to pass the new test on a 500 cc +bike as i was too small 5ft 2 and 8st.when i meet allan he had me doing a u turn on my first attempted . allan taught me more in that first morning about riding than i had learned in 6 days with the other school. allan is a fun guy to be taught by firm with you when your doing something wrong but giving plenty of praise when your doing well. He has a genuine interest in your riding developement and goes out of his way to help you achieve your goal.i would highly reccomend anyone who wants to learn to ride a bike well to be taught by allan. i passed my mod1 and mod2 last week and am looking forward to buying my first bike.thanks again allan it was great fun. good luck to you and nikki and look forward to seeing you again soon . cheers again. Due to a few minor mishaps (ie not riding fast enough up a slip road!), I failed my Module 2. However, Alan was able to put me on the straighht and narrow almost effortlessly. Alan and Nikki helpfully re-booked the test for 14 days time and advised me to have a couple of hours riding before-hand. I thought I may have needed more; but, I trusted Alan and his expertise thinking I hoped he was right. When the day of the re-test came, I met Alan who said, "Right, we'll have a relaxing ride around before your test and you'll pass it no problem - with only 1 or 2 minors." "Only 1 or 2 minors!!" I thought. "Does he not remember what happened last time?" We got our helmets and gloves on and went for our "jolly." I must say I wasn't convinced; but, I somehow sensed Alan knew something I didn't. Afterwards, we went to the test centre and after a short 15 minute wait, off I went on Module 2 Take 2. The ride went well; however, I wasn't at all sure how it went. I just rode around, turned when told, achieved a hill start and a couple of pull in/outs, and enjoyed the sunshine. After 45 minutes, I was back at the test centre. Alan looked at me and I shrugged as if to say, "Who knows?" In his little office, the examiner told me the verdict, "You've passed and only 1 minor." I paused stunned. I thought, 'Only 1 minor??? How the f---?" Needless to say, Alan was, again, right (a bit of a pattern forming here!). I have now been riding around on my SV650S for a couple of weeks and thouroughly enjoying it. I have riden to Birmingham twice, London and, even, through the woods, on motorways, back lanes and everything in-between - with the Mrs on the back!! This biking lark is just superb. I am so glad I did it with TT Motorcycle School. Thank you again Alan and Nikki, and hopefully I will see you on your next charity run. All the best.

WOW ! – What can I say ?? 65 days after I first sat on a motorbike, and only 6 days after I passed my module 1 test (first time!), I passed my module 2 test, also first time ! So now I am officially a biker -and loving every minute of it on my Yamaha R1, even in the Great British Autumnal weather!!! So thank you very much Allen and Nikki for your support, coaching, and personal care to ensure that not only did I realise my dream, but I did it correctly, safely and at a pace that suited me… To anyone who is reading this testimonial and thinking if TT is the right school for you, I honestly would say that you can’t go wrong with Allan and Nikki and to give it a go, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy it as much as I did…. So thanks again Allan, I will be back for more coaching and training in the spring for my advanced course, until then I know I will be hearing your voice in my head as I ride around telling me what to do and when to do it.. All the best mate… MATT

I started my new life as a “biker” only a few short weeks ago where on the 15th August, after never even sitting on a motorbike before, I attended the CBT day with Allan. Picture it if you will an (early !) 30s out and out petrol head attends the day adorned with all the right kit, thinking to himself “this will be easy, If I can drive TVRs, Lotus’ and Ferraris a little Yamaha 125 will be a child’s play”– How wrong I could be ? I found it very, very, hard. I Lost my temper. I swore loads, and at the end of the day began to think that Valintino Rossy the second may have to be content with a cup of tea, a pipe and a pair of slippers rather than a set of leathers and a sports bike…... However with Allan’s support, expert coaching, truly first class skills, and yes, a lot of nagging!!, on Tuesday of this week, after only 26 hours in the saddle, I passed my Direct Access Module 1 on the first attempt….. Thank you Allan, and all the guys at Groombridge. So now I’m focusing on Module 2, and with more support, (and nagging !!) from Allan, I am sure that my new life as Valinteno’s older, taller and better looking !! “bike brother” will be (very) gently zooming around on my dream bike….. A black Yamaha R1, tucked up nicely in the garage waiting for me… In summery I do not believe that anyone other than Allan would have helped be fulfill my dreams, a fantastic instructor and a thoroughly nice guy too. Would I recommend TT motorcycle school ? – To absolutely everyone I would say a resounding “YES”… now I’m off for some Mod 2 training, so Shoulder shoulder, and off I go…..

I first went to Allan after failing my module 2 test after doing all my training up to that point with *** in Copthorne. I thought I was ready for the test when I took it but there were a number of things that *** had missed that Allan soon put me straight on and I was soon feeling alot more confident. We only had two hours together but I probably learned more in that short time than I did in the whole time at ***. I went into the test the next time a lot more optimistic and passed. My guess is that most people don't impliment all that they've learned from their training into their everyday riding after passing their tests but I learned a number of techniques with Allan that I'm sure I'll carry with me for the rest of my riding days.

Having not been on a motorcycle since 1995, I thought now would be a good time to get back on the saddle. After another trainer didn't return my messages, I met Nikki at Groombridge Motorcycles. After a very freindly and helpful chat, I took a leaflet home and had a look on this site. TT Motorcycle School appeared to be professional, friendly and enthusiastic. I called Nikki and after another friendly and helpful encounter, I booked my CBT and Module 1. Upon meeting Allan for my CBT training, it became apparent he has a passion for top quality training and made me feel at ease right away. The training was fun, honest, relaxing and very enjoyable. Thanks to Allan, I passed. For Module 1, Allan's committment to my training was unwaivering. He was firm when I made mistakes and guided me through correcting them in a straight forward way. Although we had a few laughs, his focus and expertise helped me immensely. I was surprised at how quick he could get me riding with confidence. I am pleased to say I passed Module 1 first time and without any faults - amazing! I am now booked in for Module 2 next week with Allan and am lo oking forward to it. Although I know he will pick me up on everything I do wrong, he will also give me praise for good riding and will build my confidence for the test. I would recommend TT Motorcycle School to anyone - I bet they could even get my Gran through it! Thanks for helping me get through training Allan and Nikki, you guys are simply #1.

Hi Allan & Nikki, It’s taken a while due to the pressure of work but I just wanted to thank you for the great way you run the CBT training. I gave up bike riding some ten years ago. as I had been riding for quite a while on a provisional licence and was told I had to take a CBT test thought I can’t be bothered with it so I gave it up. But this year I changed my mind after reading other testimonials I decided to book a CBT test with TT Motorcycle school and to my surprise I quite enjoyed the whole day thanks to Allen’s style of training, and because of his enthusiasm I have decided to go for the complete test this time, so without a doubt I will be back for the rest of the course. Good morning Alan. Sorry it's taken a while to get in touch, but have been a bit busy over the past month or so. I was just flicking through this weeks MCN and found an article about motor cycle instruction which reminded me I needed to drop you a line. I big thanks for getting me through the mod 2 mate, I was over the moon to pass with no faults what so ever. It's only when you read about other peoples horror stories and failed tests that you begin to realise that it can only be the instructor who is at fault in most cases - not introducing counter steering, not explaining braking correctly and not fully explaining the dangers of motorcycling. All of the above you explained mate and I must say that after your lessons I found the test a breeze, and consider myself to be in good shape to continue to improve my motorbike skills. The moral of the story is clear; if you only want to pass the test, go and see Joe Bloggs. If you want to learn to ride a bike, go and see Allan. Good to see a message on your website from Alberto, and hope to catch up with you soon mate….. Still haven't found myself a bike yet, so depending on when the wife frees up the funds to for me to buy a one, I may see you for a refresher course - no bloody singing though. In the mean time all the best and I hope business stays good over the winter months. Paul. (Big fat ginger bloke in case you've forgotten!!!)

Alan - Many thanks for getting me through my direct access unrestricted, the whole experience was a joy! At 43 years young I thought it was about time I took my test having ridden bikes while I was younger but not been on one for about 20 years I was a bit nervous, testing as you get older seems to get more difficult, especially when you knock a cone over whoops!!, your training methods proved spot on for me and we did have a bit of fun along the way (despite the fact you come from north of the Watford gap). Again many thanks Alan I would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone who wishes to take there bike test, in fact I already have to a couple of people. How on earth can I start putting into words what you have done for me mate ? I should start perhaps by saying that I am no spring chicken - I am 60 years of age, with the dream of riding a motorbike. Very often I doubted if I could do it at my age. Mind you,.. I am quite fit and in a good shape 60 year old bloke. I started surfing the web for riding schools, it had to be near Newhaven (East Sussex); so I googled “motorcycle riding schools near Lewes” and guess what… TT motorcycles came up straightaway. I contacted Alan on his mobile, left a message for him to ring me, and that same evening, he called me back and he explained everything I needed to do. I found myself on the following Saturday at 0830 hrs in Lewes doing my CBT. At the end of that relaxed and fun day on a 125cc, Alan issued me with my CBT Certificate. Gosh… I thought….this is it - there is no turning back - I was hooked. I came home and googled “DSA Theory MotorcycleTest” - called them up and booked for three weeks ahead in order to give myself enough time to learn all the relevant questions about the motorcycle highway code. Also downloaded on my computer for a fiver the whole course. You can test yourself as often as you like and also see the scores you get. (Fantastic little program). Three weeks later I was in Eastbourne doing my Theory Test - When you pass they give you another certificate valid for two years. So….I had two certificates out of four in the bag, Great…I said two more to go, Module one & Module two. I contacted Alan again. I was so pleased to tell him I’d passed. I think he was as excited as me. I booked a few more hours with Alan in order to train for Module One and after a few hours on semi-deserted roads doing all the slow manoeuvres, by putting markers on the road, I eventually got my Module One Certificate. I was so thrilled having passed my module one that a few days later I went out and bought my self a Harley, put it in my drive covered up till I got my full licence. Three Certificates in the bag and a Harley waiting, One more to go. Alan arranged and booked with DSA for my final test and also a few more hours with me, in order to get me ready for the final test. Even on Bank holiday Monday (31/08/09) Alan and I were out riding early in the morning for a couple of hours prior to my test at 1329 hrs the following day. So the following day came and I felt as ready as I could ever be. Went out with the examiner for 45 minutes, I thought to my self, I think I did OK, One just never know what is going through the examiner’s mind, we went into his office and he said “you’d better seat down, I have a certificate to write” then I knew I had made it. Today 02/Sept/09, I didn’t want to waste any time to start writing a few words to Alan and say to him: THANK YOU MATE. There is no way I would have done it without your help. So to anybody out there thinking of learning to ride a motorcycle, I say: DON’T hesitate to give Alan at TT Motorcycles a ring, he will take you all the way from your CBT through to Modules One & Two - his sheer enthusiasm and determination to get you through, is second to none. Once again, THANKS MATE I OWE YOU ONE. , I will come and see you in the Harley Alberto Namihas

I had never ridden a bike before, and booked a 5 day DAS course with TT based on Allan's previous testimonials. I am now happy to add to the long list, as he somehow managed to get me to pass my DAS test (both mod 1 and mod 2) first time within a week! I was a complete novice, and quite nervous, but Allan has patience, and the knack for being both honest and supportive. He is not afraid to tell you what you're doing wrong, but that's exactly what you need. His enthusiasm to get you through is also fantastic. In fact, when i passed he was genuinely just as happy as i was!! Thanks again Allan, I will be sure to recommend TT in future.

Hi Allan, Just a quick note to say a huge thank you for getting me through my mod 1. My nerves are my biggest problem and I hate exams, however with Allan’s support and great instruction I got through it and wondered afterwards what all the fuss was about! Although he knows a few songs that will get on your nerves (I’ll miss riding with a voice in my ear), Allan takes a huge amount of pride in getting us all through our test and that’s what makes him the person you need to learn with. Thanks again. See you for my mod 2! Rebecca

After passing my cbt in May I was looking forward to doing my direct access. With the theory and hazard awareness done I was soon looking forward to the first part, module 1 of 2. After 2 days of Allans training I was doing all the excersises with ease - I was relaxed, confident and looked forward to what I first thought would be a nightmare. I'm sure there's plenty of instructors out there that will make you pass your test but Allan in my opinion gives you the confidence to be a good motorcyclist. highly recommended.

Many thanks for getting me through the Module 1 motorcycle test Alan. I have to say that from the first time I met Alan on my CBT I was overwhelmed by the immense sense of pride that he takes in the quality training that he provides. As someone who had not ridden a motorcycle for some years, and then never in excess of 50cc, I was somewhat nervous of getting back in the saddle. My fears were put to bed quickly however, by Alans caring nature, calm demeanour and gentle teaching style. All round a top guy. Just a shame he can't make a cup of tea to save his bloody life.

Allan only trains 2 people at a time, so you get lots of attention, advise and really good training! Out on the road, he talks to you via a headset - so you get lots of instruction, and feel really safe. I have my own bike now, and feel I have had exceptional training. I feel safe and think I have had the best start in bike riding!

Hiya Allan Thanks for today. Even though I was kacking myself in the beginning, you put me at ease and I found myself quickly building confidence. I was ready to throw the towel in a few times but your coaxing and calmness kept me going. I'm now totally hooked and can't wait to get back on a bike and get better at it. All the best and as they say in the ol' country "stay between the ditches!!"

Just thought I'd say thanks for the refresher course last week. As I'd not been on a bike for about 10 years it was invaluable to me. I reckon if I'd have just gone ahead and bought a new bike, I'd have probably killed myself within a few weeks. With your wise words ringing in my head - I think I can stay safe.

I'd never been on a motorbike before. Allans easy approach and relaxed style helped me gain confidence quickly and easily. The road ride was enjoyable too, even if it was just because of a camel and some llamas! (I'd take my CBT again just for them). For £100, this CBT is a bargain for Allans quality of teaching, I'd definately recommend using TT to others. I've got my new motorbike and love it, Cheers Allan.

Basically in a nutshell, I would recommend ' TT ' to anyone wanting to get on a motorbike. Al doesn't just teach you to pass a test (which he does very well) but actually how to ride a bike. TT motorcycle school is definately not a sausage factory for biker wannabees! I was very impressed with Al's relaxed style and his real enthusiasm to see his student make the grade....that is quite refreshing in this day and age! I thoroughly enjoyed the training and have to say it is a steep learning curve going from 125cc to 500cc! The new location of the school right next to the Test Centre in Burgess Hill is a definate bonus and watching other schools bringing there students 100 miles plus to do there test made me feel very privalaged to be on the doorstep! Thanks again Al for getting me through the test....you showed great patience at times...excellent instructor! Gary Lacon

I cannot sing the praises of the TTmotorcycle school enough. From first deciding after many years of not riding, from my teenage years , to now wanting to cruise the Sussex countryside, like Steve McQueen in the Great Escape, i embarked on finding a local motorcycle school local close to me in Lewes. I believe fate played it's hand and i spoke with Alan, by phone, regarding how expediently he could instruct me to my goal. Within 2 days he was following me through the countryside finding my many bad habits and rectifying them ready for my Bike Test. I didn't know what to expect from this experience but what i got was a real sense of achievement after being reassured by Alan, on my test day to calm down as he said without doubt " You are gonna pass! I wouldn't let you take this test if i wasn't sure. My reputation means more than that." He was right. I cruised it. Now here i am writing this on a Saturday morning, waiting until 9.am ,when i can go and get my new motorbike and that is all thanks to Alan and TTmotorcycle school. In Alan's own words when i was handed my pass certificate on my test date, " Top Job!" and that's all i can say too about my experience with Alan of TTmotorcycle. " Top Job!" Thanks pal, Jameson Penfold

I have never been so apprehensive about learning anything as I was embarking on riding a motor bike! What I thought would be an arduous long scary day Alan turned into what seemed like a couple of fun filled hours ! I had no idea I would be riding around the countryside so quickly ! A big thank you for putting me through my CBT on Sunday! I was so excited, but the smile masked a bag of nerves having taken nearly 10 years to work up the courage to be here. Allan’s friendly and relaxed style meant that my early wobbles were soon over and in no time I was confidently riding around the yard. Out on the road the fear crept back in as I realised that 30 mph feels so much faster on a bike and a brief encounter of the ‘kerb’ kind could have knocked my confidence but Allan’s reassuring voice in my ear soon had me riding tall, head up and enjoying the ride. Throughout the day it was clear that by only having 2 students with him Allan is able to offer specific advice to improve our riding, this individual attention is what puts him above so many of the bigger schools. It takes about an hour to get to Lewes from Rye but it is more than worth it for the quality of teaching; I’d recommend anyone over this side of the county to make the drive as Allan will make sure that you return home feeling like you’ve had a lot more than ‘basic’ training. I’m looking forward to mastering my U-turn and getting out on a bigger bike confident that Allan be watching every move I make! Thanks again Allan.

Thank you very much to Allan who helped me complete my CBT. I started off very wobbly and very nervous but by the end of the yard session I was having fun, and feeling confident. Allan has a fantastic teaching method and his sense of humour really helps you feel at ease. Having just 2 of us on the day really helped me to concentrate and learn quicker. After a morning of yard riding, we went out on the road which I was quite nervous about but Allan helped me feel confident and by the end of it I didn't know what I was so nervous about. I am now using my scooter to get to work and college and am loving my freedom. I have recommended TT motorcycle school to others for when they do their CBT.

Following the success of my CBT in February I decided to book my direct access course with TT Motorcycle School, the relaxed but professional teaching style Allan has helped make the decision on which motorcycle school to use a no brainer. The four day course started 8am Monday, unfortunately I left my brain at home and rode like a complete plum. I was left thinking by the end of day one (after dropping the bike) that maybe biking wasn’t for me but Allan assured me he had seen it all before and things would improve. As Allan predicted the rest of the week saw a vast improvement in my riding, the test questions were covered fully over a cup of tea and cheese on toast, I felt more relaxed and even started to look forward to my test on the Thursday. The morning of the test arrived and we travelled to Burgess Hill in glorious sunshine I was feeling relaxed and assured by Allan felt my riding up to standard, all I needed to do is remember to cancel my signal after each turn! The 40 minute test flew by and before I knew it I was back at the test centre standing in front of Mark the examiner who promptly told me I had passed with no minor faults! Yes you read that right NO FAULTS! I would like to thank Allan for all of the hard work he put in to transform me from being a complete novice to passing my test, he knows just how much to push his students giving praise when earned and a swift kick up the arse when required! I have no hesitation in recommending TT Motorcycle School to anyone thinking of taking up biking. The training I received was second to none and I can now start my biking life with all the skills I need to be safe on the road. Thanks again Allan and I hope to join you on your charity run in June.

Alan is great instructor and is very easy to learn from, It was great being able to fit lessons around by college timetable. Thanks to this I was able to book my test after a only a handful of lessons and passed first time with only one minor! Hi Allan just wanted to say a big big thanks!! After years of dreaming about passing my bike test getting a bike and now i can finally do it!! Heres my testimonial for your web site: After not ridden a bike before, with Als good teaching and my bad practicing (had to get that one in Al) within 2 weeks i was sat at test centre taking my full bike test. I started off doing my CBT with Al and after him giving me the confidence decided to go straight on and do my DAS course with TT the following week. Al was a fantastic teacher speaking in plain english and explaining everything thouroughly i found my confidence growing day by day. The relaxed attitude of TT helped me take everything in and the tea break discussions and advice helped me get warm which was much needed as it was early Feb!! After 3 days of tuition with Al and confidence high i felt ready to take my full test so Al booked me in the following day. I had a couple of hours relaxed riding with TT in the morning i then sat my test, 40 minutes later passed with only four minors to which Al had written 4 minors on one of his cards to show me when i got back...!! Overall i couldn't have met a better instructor to have learnt to ride with and the way Al teaches and explains eveything to you, gives you the right amount of confidence to be a good rider. Thanks once again mate your a legend and i would recomend your company to anyone looking to start there 2 wheel journey, Safe riding see you on the next burn up!! Steve Barker Brighton 09

Alan just took myself and my 16 year old son for the CBT at his Lewes site. I had ridden a scooter before but not a 125cc with foot operated gears, and Ed had never been on anything more than a bicycle. He thoroughly enjoyed his first time on a 50cc scooter, and i think that having all of Alan’s attention looking at just two of us gave us very good quality attention and extra confidence out of the experience. We had a good thorough grounding in the car park before having 2 hours on the road with Alan’s support and guidance. Everyone knows the dangers of 2 wheels vs 4 wheels and we both found Alan a very good teacher on all aspects of riding. A special thanks for helping to make both my and Ed’s future riding safe and enjoyable. Date: 16th Feb 2008 Patrick Morrison

Hi Nikki and Alan. Firstly, thanks for all your help over the past....well I can't remember, but since my initial questions through to my test last week. It's all really appreciated. I look forward to joining you guys on the first Sussex charity run, just don’t do it before March because I won’t have a bike! Anyhow, here's a little bit of blurb for your testimonials page: I did my CBT with Alan in October and after doing my theory test, booked myself in for the DAS course. Having not ridden since my CBT I was a bit nervous when I arrived on the first day. However, after Alan explained what we'd be doing during the week my nerves had all but gone and by lunch time I'd graduated to the big bike. Each day was broken up with tea breaks which allowed us to warm up a bit whilst going through some of the test questions and areas for improvement. By Wednesday afternoon I was feeling ready for the test and sure enough, on Thursday afternoon I managed to pass the test first time with only two minors - this was exactly what Alan predicted earlier in the week! Just goes to show that he knows what he's talking about - the smug git! If you're thinking of going for your bike licence I would definitely recommend you give TT Motorcycle School a call. Alan and Nikki were really helpful and professional from the outset, answering all of my questions and always getting back to me promptly, which is more than can be said for some of the larger schools in the area. All in all I really enjoyed the week's training and had a good laugh while doing it! 10 out of 10.

Hi Allan, Sorry for the delay in sending the testimonial, but here goes: After about 10 years of putting it off for one reason or another, I finally booked my CBT. My concerns about being nervous on the bike disappeared in minutes, and the fact that there is a maximum of only 2 pupils made it worth the price for this alone. Allan is an excellent instructor - simultaneously relaxed enough to put me at ease, but also professional and observant to know exactly what we were struggling with. The only downside to the day was the appalling weather - but there's not much he could've done about that! So, thanks again Allan - still haven't decided if I'll do my DAS yet (might wait till the weather is better!), but if / when I do, I'll definitely be coming back to Lewes! My wife found Allan on the internet and initially booked a couple of lessons. She was more confident than me in my ability and thought that I would just need a couple of lessons then should be able to pass my test. Having not ridden for ten years, and nothing bigger than a 125, I thought I would need more. After meeting Allan and explaining my situation etc. He also felt 2 lessons might be pushing it, but after my 1st lesson, Allan felt that actually I could be ready that quickly. I think his friendly and relaxed style really helped with my nerves and after another lesson, I too was feeling confident in going for my test. Unfortunately for various reasons, we could not get a test for at least another month which meant I wanted another lesson on the day of the test. I PASSED 1ST TIME WITH NO MINORS, on a wet, windy and rainy day. I am sure others would and could have easily got more money out of me by suggesting I needed more lessons, but Allan didn't he was really good and very fair. I have no hesitation in recommending Allan to anyone. Thanks again Allan. Regards, Sam.

I had not ridden a motorbike for nearly 20yrs so i was a bit unsure at first if i should try to learn to ride them again or stick to a car. I contacted Allan via his website as he was local to me and seemed to have a lots of good comments. They got me down to their Lewes site to do my CBT and after a chat about biking it was on the bikes and going round the yard. Allan understands that you are nervous and gives you all the help and encouragement you need. After i did the CBT i was so happy with Allan's relaxed attitude that i booked in for my DAS. Allan and i went out for 3 days and i he made me feel ready and confident to do my test. On the 4th day i took my test and by doing as Allan had taught me i passed first time with only 3 minors (which was me being forgetful). I cant thank Allan enough for teaching me how to be a good safe rider and being so understanding and patient. If you are thinking of getting into biking then book in with Allan as you wont regret it. Taking my CBT was something I have wanted to do for a fair while and finally this year decided to actually do it. After searching the web, I found TT to be the best because not only was it was local but I really wanted one to one training rather than a group of people at the same time. There were 2 of us the whole day, not 10 or even 15. Allan (although he is from Nottingham) is a great bloke who takes you through everything step by step. I have never ever ridden a bike before but Allan not only gave me the confidence but literally walked you though not only what you have to know but all that you should know. it started at 8.30 by having a sit down and chat then onto actually getting on the bike. Then after 2 hours of basic training around the car park (1st gear, hazards, clutch control) we got onto the road for a ride. It was a brilliant day made so fun at the same time. As far as Allan as a trainer is concerned, you could not ask for more. He's a nice bloke who takes time for what ever skill level you are at. He ensures you are totally looked after at the same time as you gradually learn how to ride - safely. Watch his jokes though, he is good at training you how to ride a bike, not a stand up comedian! I would 100% recommend TT to anyone as you could not ask for more (apart from nice weather - But Allan is not god, well he thinks he is).

Just a note to thank you for an excellent day's training yesterday - what fun! Not too sure what I was expecting to be honest and I was very nervous beforehand but I was put at ease the minute I arrived. Being a 'lady of a certain age' I did wonder quite how I was going to get on when young Stuart arrived, I suddenly felt 60 not 50! Your enthusiasm and love of motorbiking is infectious and your method of teaching made the whole day such an enjoyable experience. Taking to the road later in the day was far less nerve racking than I had expected and after a slight 'blip' on a roundabout, where your patience and experience shone through, it was all too soon over! I thoroughly recommend TT Motorcycle School particularly as the ratio of 2:1 makes it all feel so safe and personal.

I have to say Allan that at first on the cbt course i felt pretty shakey as i had not ridden for 32 years, and i think you thought that you had got your work cut out for the following week on the one to one DAS course. But on the monday you put my worst fears to rest and off we went on the course. You had a nagging persistance in my ear for the next 3 days do this do that, and teaching me the u turns over and over, but the persistance from you paid off as i managed to pass my test first time. I think your teaching methods are fantastic and i felt i was being taught by a mate rather than some instructor i had just met. Your way of teaching is very good (but your singing is not so good) You’re honest, straight forward, patient and to the point. The passion that you have for biking comes through and made me want to get on my own bike and hit the road. The one thing that I was failing on was the u turn so we went over and over it (your patience). You nearly did lose it when I fell off the bike 20mins before my test and I had to take the spare bike. I passed with 4 minors which was amazing but you had faith. So thank you again. I shall always pass on your name to anyone who wishes to take up motorcycling. Sarah

A quick note to thank you for an excellent day on Friday. I wholeheartedly support previous testimonials on your website - professional, light hearted, patient and an excellent teacher. Your enthusiasm and passion for biking are infectious and your patience second to none. Having previously taken a CBT a few years ago with a different organisation, I can't stress enough just how different the two experiences were. Previously, there was way too much macho showing off and that was just from the instructors! It kinda put me off for a while. But Allan focussed only on important aspects, has an easy teaching style and made me feel confident (rather than a 'bird on a bike' as was previously the case!!) So, if you're after one-to-one coaching and expert tuition delivered with a friendly and light-hearted banter, I can't recommend Allan highly enough! All the best, Jayne

Will definitely be going back to take my full license or renew my CBT when the time comes. Phil

I just want to say a huge thanks to Allan – what a star – cheesy but true. I took my CBT (125) at Christmas, got a bike, and lost my bottle really. Have been out on my bike a handful of times around a tiny village with no traffic. Had a refresher lesson with Allan today. What can I say – well straight away he put me at ease, gave me praise in all the right places and a kick when I needed it. He knows how to put you at ease, doesn’t bullsh*t. I like this honesty as it is the only way to learn. The advice and tuition I received from Allan today was completely different to where I took my CBT and I didn’t hesitate in booking a further lesson to continue to build my confidence. If only TT had been in Lewes then. If you’re a bit nervous or petrified (like me) then Allan’s your man. I certainly will be recommending him to all my friends. Thanks Allan for getting me back on my bike.

After many years of promising myself I would do it I finally got the inspiration I needed when I fell in love with a sexy little number in the train station car park. I just had to have her, or at least one just like her... a Triumph Bonneville T100! As soon as I got home I jumped on the internet and found TT Motorcycle School and within a month I have completed the CBT, passed my theory and practical tests and pick my new bike up on Saturday! It's true to say this is all down to Allan at TT. He willingly worked all my one-on-one training around my work schedule so I didnt lose any money due to taking time off which was important to me. His friendly funny but very professional teaching style made the whole journey a total pleasure and I will miss our rides out. Allan doesn't just teach you to pass your test he teaches you how to really ride a bike and when you arrive on the day of your test there will be nothing you wont know or be confident about. Dare I say... the test is almost easy by the time Allan has finished with you ;) Also, unlike some other motorcycle schools you can be sure the price you are quoted is the TOTAL price you will pay. There are no hidden extras, absolutely everything is included in the price and you will not spend your learning time sitting in a cafe drinking tea, you will spend it being taught how to ride a motorbike. If you are interested in just doing your CBT or going all the way to your full license look no further than TT Motorcycle School. I can thoroughly recommend them and will do to anyone who is interested in riding bikes. Thanks a million Al.

Thank you so much for the superb Direct Access training back in March this year. Getting me from zero to hero in three days and a first-time test pass just shows what a brilliant instructor you are. The lessons were most enjoyable mainly because they were conducted in your own inimitable style of telling it exactly as it is with no added bull. Praise was given where it was due and prompt correction provided with equal rapidity where necessary. In spite of dire threats to parts of my anatomy, I now have my own bike and I am learning how to build on the skills you expertly nurtured. The thing is, I can still hear your voice in my ear saying "Mirrors, road position, speed" or "John...you're on a bike, go through!" Nice one m8, it's all programmed in. I would like to wish you the very best of luck with your new venture. I really hope it all works out for you. You deserve the success. All the best, John Street

I passed my DAS back in September 07 (first time) with TT Motorcycle School and would like to thank Allan for all his ‘encouragement’ during the course. Luckily, I am one of these people who thrive when being verbally abused all day long by a short **** in leather trousers that are too tight!! It was a great couple of days and the laid back and friendly atmosphere that Allan creates allows you to concentrate on learning to ride properly and to the standard required to pass your test. I would have no problems recommending TT Motorcycle School to my friends and family in the future. Thank you very much & sorry it’s so late. Phil 'big lad' Raymond 17-03-08

Just past my test on the first attempt on the 25th October after doing the direct access course with Allan. Really enjoyed the course, and think the relaxed atmosphere throughout the course was very beneficial. Allan managed to show me all i needed to know and more during the four days, and left me feeling confident and ready for the test. When choosing somewhere to do my direct access i found that of all the places I contacted, TT Motorcycle School was the most co-operative and professional, to fit me in to my limited timeframe. Everything went smoothly with no problems and all went to plan. I would highly recommend TT Motorcycle School and the instructor Allan to anyone who wants to get into biking, either with or without previous experience and wish him and the business all the best for the future. I needed a bit more than a refresher course – nearly 40 years is a long time to be behind a steering wheel and away from handle bars! I needn’t have worried. Allan calmed me down, kitted me up, swore at me a few times and made me feel totally at ease. I reached 5mph in no time at all! In only my second hour I was out on the road and feeling more and more confident, despite Allan’s constant nagging in my ear on his one way intercom system. Because it was only one way I wasn’t able to nag back! He soon had me travelling at the right speed, in the right gear, in the right position on the road and even going in the right direction. These intercoms are wonderful things! Thanks to Allan I now have the confidence to go out, buy a big tourer and ride it safely! I’d certainly recommend anyone who’s thinking of coming back to biking to let Allan have the chance to raise your confidence and safety awareness sky high. Cheers Allan Phil

The instruction was brilliant, the lessons fun and excellent value for money! I'm actually missing the lessons they were such a laugh! Allan's tuition gave me the confidence not only to pass but the ability to ride on my own with confidence! If you are thinking about taking your Bike licence and have no idea which school is good or which are the pants ones then your confusion stops here. Alan and Simon have the best abilities, personalities, attitudes and training ethics I have ever experienced. I have taken my Car, HGV class 2 and HGV class 1 licences so I’m getting used to this driving lark but I had so many bad habits and traits to overcome I thought I would never pass my Bike licence. However, with Alan’s keen eye and experience he knew exactly how to fix me. With training far and above test level so that if I did have a bad day I should still pass, which I obviously did! You’ll have fun, have a laugh and you get to ride a bike, how cool is that? Huge thanks to the two of you. Cheers matey! Jordan

Comments: What an enjoyable day! Great fun, gained essential knowledge and had lots of opportunity to practice under clear instruction. The aims of the course, safety equipment, the bike itself, how to operate the controls, on-road requirements and on-road riding were all covered thoroughly. During the day, student competence and confidence builds up progressively and new riders begin to further developing their all important observational skills. The structured approach to the training ensures that all course elements are covered and any questions are answered but the over-riding attribute of this course for me at TT Training was the environment provided by the instructors. I'm sure these guy's really could teach grannies to suck eggs! The smile on your face when you finish lasts for weeks. Thanks guy's, I'll be back for further training soon, as I'm sure will many. A big thank you to Alan and Simon for helping me pass first time. Excellent tuition and a great week. I would recommend Tarmac Training to anyone looking to learn, Simon and Alan must be the best instructors in Mansfield, if not Nottinghamshire. Thanks Warren Anderson

"I cant thank Alan and Simon enough for dedicating so much time and patience! Not only did I breeze through the CBT I had two full days worth of thorough and tailored training on a 125 and a 500 with good, clear and honest instruction... it was a swealtering few days but I was catered for with lolipops, water, tea and humour... I sure will miss you guys! and I promise to come visit from the sunny south when I pass down here next week!"

The first time I ever sat on a motorbike was back in the middle of April this year when I did my CBT with lads at tarmac training. I knew absolutely nothing about motorbikes up until that day, all I knew was that I wanted to be able to ride one. After doing my CBT I decided to book myself in to do the DAS with Alan and Simon. I did my DAS on the week beginning the 19th of June. All I can say was that it was a very enjoyable expierence. At the end of the week I had my driving test and to my surprise, and probably alot of other peoples surprise, I passed my test first time! The boys worked wonders. Thanks a million.

I arrived at the centre not really knowing what to expect but was welcomed and made to feel comfortable straight away. The whole day was good fun and I didn't feel pressured, while at the same time each activity was monitored and taken seriously with really good, constant feedback from the instructors. When out on the road towards the end of the day I was given good clear guidance and reassurance and after the two hours riding I felt really comfortable on the road. I can highly recommend tarmac training to anyone looking to do their CBT and I will definitely be back to do my Direct Access once I have completed my theory test. Many thanks to Alan and Simon for an enjoyable day Carl Firmstone

THE place for your CBT, these guys get you on your bike AND keep you on it! Knowlageable and honest they talk to you not at you. It doesn't end with your certificate either Tarmac-training look after you for equipment, bike maintenance and anything else your unsure with. The best start a new biker can get!
